A graduate in Film Directing from the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC), Liliana Torres was born in Vic. The short film Anteayer and the documentaries Viviendo en la piedra and Todos los trabajos de las mujeres are from her university years. Upon graduation she received a scholarship for a documentary specialization at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico, where she ended up living 7 years working intensely in documentaries and short films. In 2012 she returned to Vic to shoot her first hybrid fiction film, Familiy Tour, which won the award for Best European Film at the Crossing Europe Film Festival and the award for Best New Director granted by the Film Director Association of Catalonia, among others. Her documentary Hayati, co-directed with Sofia Escudé, premiered in 2018 and won the award for Best Documentary granted by the Press Association of Catalonia, among others. Her second hybrid fiction film, ¿Qué hicimos mal?, premiered in 2021 and won the 2022 Mestre Mateo Award for Best Cinematography. Her feature film Mamífera is about to premiere in the 2024 SXSW Film Festival in Austin.

Climaterio — Selva’s early menopause coincides with the death of her mother. In an attempt to appease the grief and the changes she is experiencing, Selva decides to sell her childhood home, located in a village in the center of Catalonia. But when she gets there, menopause continues to transform her, causing a metamorphosis that synchronizes her with the pain of nature and the fauna plundered and contaminated by the macro-farms in the area.
