Rossana Castillo (Chile)

Rossana Castillo is a Chilean director and screenwriter. Her first short film, Piter, had its world premiere at the 2019 Guadalajara International Film Festival and was selected at festivals such as Huesca and Curta Kinoforum. In Chile, it premiered at the Santiago International Film Festival (SANFIC) and won the jury award at the University Short Film Festival (Chile). It was also part of the HBO North America catalog. Rossana is currently distributing her second short film, Humedal, a project that was financed by the Chilean Audiovisual Fund, won the color correction award at the Chilean Film Festival and was selected at Ventana Sur, where it won a pass to the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market. Rossana is developing her first feature film, La oveja trasquilada, which was part of the First Feature Lab of the Ñuble Film Festival, the Santiago Lab Ficción at SANFIC Industria, and Nuevas Miradas at the International School of Film and Television of Cuba.

La oveja trasquilada Amanda, a young woman from rural northern Chile, receives a visit from Pedro, a cousin who is a veterinarian and whom she has not seen in years. After piecing together the fragments of an incomplete memory, Amanda decides to confront her childhood abuser and plan a crime to bring justice.
