Daniel Rehder (Peru)

Daniel Rehder graduated from New York University (NYU) in 2015. His debut feature film, Hotel Paraíso, addressing issues of bullying and self-esteem, was released in Peru and Ecuador in 2019. His second feature film, No te mueras por mí, shedding light on violence against women, was released in Peru and Colombia in 2025. Daniel is currently finishing the development of his third feature film, El Atrapanieblas (The Fog Catcher), inspired by Abel Cruz’s visionary efforts to combat water scarcity and climate change in marginalized communities, and beginning development on his fourth feature film.

Daniel was a participant in Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2025 Storylines Lab with El Atrapanieblas (The Fog Catcher).

Una semana que duró veinte años — Based on real events. A young posh Spaniard travels to Argentina for work and, as a result of an absurd misunderstanding, ends up handcuffed, accused of drug trafficking, and treated like a criminal legend. During a week in detention, while trying not to lose his mind or hope, he discovers the advantages and disadvantages of being feared as the most wanted drug lord on the continent.
