Carol Rodríguez Colás is a director and screenwriter born in Cornellà de Llobregat. In 2024, she shot her second feature film, Hermanos, in co-production with Mexico. In 2021, her first feature film, Chavalas, distributed by Filmax, premiered in the Official Selection of the Málaga International Film Festival, where it won numerous awards, including the Silver Biznaga Audience Award, the ASECAN Award for Best First Feature Film, and the Movistar+ Award for Best Film. Chavalas was also nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Director, the Feroz Award for Best Comedy, and the Spanish Screenwriters Guild Award for Best Screenplay. In 2020, Carol released the short film La vella lluita, produced by Malmo Pictures and Alba Sotorra S.L., which was nominated for the 2021 Gaudí Awards and received an Honorable Mention from the Jury at FEMCINE, Women’s Film Festival (Chile). As a director and screenwriter, Carol directed Bany compartit in 2019, a sitcom produced by RTVE. She has also directed documentaries such as Raval, plan de escape for TV3, edited by Meritxell Colell.
