Storylines Lab 2026

Leonardo Pessoa is a Brazilian writer and director with a background in advertising, where he has spent years writing and directing branded content. In cinema, his debut short film as a writer, Babelon (2020), screened at festivals including Rio de Janeiro’s Curta Cinema and Mostra Tiradentes. His second short film, Through the Uncanny Valley (2024), had a festival run in the horror, fantasy, and sci-fi circuit. He is currently in post-production on 27 Club, his debut short film as a director, with an expected premiere in 2026. His feature writing spans genres — his coming-of-age comedy was a finalist at Sesc Argumenta’s 2025 treatment contest. Fever, an intimate horror feature, is his latest project in development.
Fever — A grieving couple retreats to the Brazilian mangrove, where the ailing husband is healed by the wild. But as he transforms into something new, his wife must fight for the man she loves or surrender him to a terrifying state of grace.
