Kimberly Bautista is a Colombian-American award-winning writer, director and producer from Pasadena, California. Her feature-length documentary film Justice for My Sister, about femicide in Guatemala, was broadcast on PBS Stations and TeleSUR. The film screened in 20 countries to over 15,000 live audience members and laid the groundwork for Kimberly to found the arts nonprofit Justice for My Sister Collective, which trains underrepresented filmmakers to transform experiences marked by trauma into stories of healing and promote racial justice and gender equality. Kimberly is a fierce champion of youth leadership and the arts as promoters of social change. Her comedic pilot The SweetSpot, about a group of friends who contend with modern-day adulthood, premiered at the 2017 Outfest Fusion Film Festival in Los Angeles. Kimberly is currently developing Elemental Powers, a dark comedy/magical realism TV series, and she was recently artist-in-residence with the United States Embassy in Lima, Peru, to facilitate her program The Pitching Lab for Entrepreneurial Filmmakers. Kimberly has an M.F.A. in Social Documentary from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
