Bane Fakih is a Lebanese director based in New York. Her first short film, Assil and Jad (2014), was awarded Best Short Film at the European Film Festival of Beirut, Best Student Film in Nadi Li Kol El-Nass, and Best Screenplay at the New York City International Film Festival. Bane holds a B.A. in Audiovisual Arts from Saint Joseph University in Beirut and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting and Film Directing from Columbia University in New York City. She wrote and directed the short film Vibes (2019), which screened at Palm Springs ShortFest, Berlin Feminist Week, FilmOut San Diego, Reel Out Charlotte and OutWest Film Festival. Bane is currently developing her first feature film, Keep It Together, which was selected by the Tribeca Film Institute for the Tribeca All Access 2019 program.
Keep It Together — In 1976, in civil war-torn Beirut, a rebellious young woman fights to free her neighborhood from the control of the Holiday Inn sniper and to maintain her relationship with a woman against social norms.
