Diego González Cruz is a Colombian filmmaker, with a B.A. in Literature from the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. He directed the short film Nadia (2017), which premiered at the Bogoshorts Short Film Festival; the music video Dreadfully Pious (2020), by the American band Gost, which also premiered at Bogoshorts; and the documentary short film Primera línea (2020), produced by Rolling Stones magazine. He is currently making the feature documentary Barbitch; post-producing the youth web series Power Grow, which he writes and directs, a winning project of the 2021 call of the Colombian Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies; and developing his first fiction feature film, Los últimos románticos, which won the screenwriting grant for fiction feature films in 2019 from the Colombian Film Development Fund (FDC). He has also worked as creative copywriter and has collaborated as a writer for magazines such as Playboy Colombia, Shock, La Gaceta de El País, Cartel Urbano and Vice. Diego was a participant in the 2021 Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) and is the recipient of the 2021 Cine Qua Non Lab-BAM prize, awarded by Cine Qua Non Lab in collaboration with the BAM, the FDC and Proimágenes Colombia, for his project Los últimos románticos.
