Matías Meyer graduated as a film director from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City in 2006. Amores modernos (2019) is his fifth feature film as a director, producer and screenwriter, preceded by Yo (2015), Los últimos cristeros (2011), El calambre (2009) and Wadley (2008). His films have been programmed and awarded in film festivals from around the world, such as Toronto, Rotterdam, Locarno and Morelia. He is currently a fellow of the National System of Creators of Mexico (2020-2023).
