Alán González

Alán González is a Cuban screenwriter, director and project advisor. He is the Head of the Screenwriting Department at the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba (EICTV) and a teacher at its Regular Course and Master’s Degree in Screenwriting, as well as of institutions such as CHAVÓN, the School of Design, in the Dominican Republic. He is a co-founder and a member of the Viceversa collective, with which he has co-written and advised several feature films from the Caribbean region with wide recognition. He has been a director of photography and has directed short films that have been screened at film festivals such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), the International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao (ZINEBI) and the London Short Film Festival (LSFF). His first fiction feature film, Wild Woman (La mujer salvaje), premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023 and has won awards at prestigious film festivals such as the Malaga Film Festival, the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cineman (BAFICI) and the Havana International Film Festival, as well as in Peru, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Belgium and Morocco.
