Alycya Magaña is a Chicana screenwriter from Dallas, Texas, whose work focuses on magical realism and horror narratives featuring women. Her scripts have participated and won or placed as finalists in numerous contests, including Film Pipeline, Screencraft, Atlanta Film Festival, WeScreenplay, and Flickers, to name a few. Her most recent script, El Vals, has won several awards and grants, including the Shore Scripts Film Fund, First Flights/Holly Shorts Film Fund, and Best Short Script at the Sidewalk Film Festival. It was directed by Damiana Acuña and is currently in post-production.
