Andrés Piñeros is a Colombian film director/writer born and raised in Bogotá, interested in the culture, history and present-day society of Colombia. Andrés has directed seven short films and several video art pieces that have screened at international film festivals such as the Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival, the Philadelphia Latin American Film Festival, Encuentro Mundial de Cine 2014, the Cartagena International Film Festival and the Cine Pobre Film Festival in Cuba, among others. Andrés holds an M.F.A. in Film Directing from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). In 2017, he directed

Nacido del barro (Born From Clay) — A nameless orphan accepts the faith that people have in him as a witch doctor. Years later, known as the Devil, he finds love with Mechas and runs away with her to escape his past.
