Andrew Sala (Argentina)

Andrew Sala is an Argentine filmmaker with a background in film and economics. He graduated magna cum laude in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires before studying Film Directing at the Universidad del Cine, where he also teaches. His first feature film, Pantanal (2014), premiered at the Warsaw International Film Festival and screened at film festivals such as Mar del Plata, Stockholm, and São Paulo. His second feature film, La barbarie (The Barbarians) (2023) gained international acclaim, winning awards at the Transilvania, Lima PUCP and Cinélatino Toulouse film festivals. Andrew is a co-founder of Nevada Cine and has produced films such as Adentro mío estoy bailando (award for best first feature film at the Berlinale) and Apenas el sol (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam—IDFA). He is currently developing his third feature film as a director, Amazon Dream.

Andrew was a participant in Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2015 Script Revision Lab with La barbarie.
