Clara Peltier is a Brazilian screenwriter, director and producer from Rio de Janeiro. She holds a dual degree in journalism and cinema from PUC-Rio University, a filmmaking certificate from New York University, and an international acting certificate from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Born into a family of many women, Clara has always been drawn to female-led narratives. Her poetic and visual storytelling explores the intimate lives of overlooked women. Her short films have been selected for international festivals, such as the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), the Cartagena International Film Festival, the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, and the Miami International Film Festival, among others. Her latest short film, Pele de Pássaro (Bird Skin), won the Special Jury Prize at Documenta Madrid, Best Short Film at Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, and the Audience Award at São Paulo International Short Film Festival. Clara is the founder of Eterna Filmes, a production company dedicated to creating new representations of feminine subjectivity in cinema.
