Dídac Gimeno (Spain)

Dídac Gimeno is a Spanish filmmaker originally from Valencia. He holds a degree in Veterinary Studies and has worked mainly in the specialty of Anesthesiology. He graduated in Film Directing from the Madrid Film and Audiovisual School (ECAM) and has directed the short films Oscillation, Saturno a través del telescopio and Las enfermedades de los árboles, with more than 150 selections for international film festivals. El sueño de los perros, his latest short film, premiered at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival in 2021. He is currently working on the post-production on Las mantis, his first feature film, which was shot in the summer of 2024.

Dídac was a participant in Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2023 Taller de Revisión de Guion lab with Las mantis.

Los durmientes In a remote village in the present day, children begin to fall asleep for days on end. Carlos, an organic chemist, travels to the area to investigate a possible poisoning. There he meets Ana, the owner of the local cinema, who believes the children’s illness is the work of a vampire.
