Lilian T. Mehrel is an award-winning writer and director with a visionary sense of feeling and humor. Her films have premiered at Tribeca and Clermont-Ferrand film festivals. Her awards include ABC/Disney. She was selected for Torino Film Lab’s 2024 Comedy Lab, Warner Media & Tribeca Immigration Co/Lab, and Google & TFI Immersive Lab/Award. Featured in Variety, ScreenDaily, and The New York Times, her work includes Water Melts, created with MG Evangelista and supported by Tribeca and Google; Musica Quarantena, starring Elisa del Genio (HBO’s My Brilliant Friend) and created with Danielle Rhoda; and The Loneliest, starring Madeline Wise (HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm). Lilian earned her M.F.A. in Film from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and her B.A. from Dartmouth College with a Senior Fellowship. A mixed-ethnicity daughter of immigrants, she also authored and illustrated a family memoir and is a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow. Lilian connects to wide audiences with her funny, hopeful swirl of cinematic poetry and comedy.
