Lô Politi (Brazil)

Lô Politi is a Brazilian director and screenwriter with a remarkable track record in the film industry. Her debut film, Jonas, won the Special Jury Prize at the Rio International Film Festival and is available on Netflix in 190 countries. Her second feature film, Sol, released in late 2022, received critical acclaim and secured awards at film festivals such as Rio, Miami, Los Angeles, and BRICS. Lô also directed the documentary Alvorada Palace, exploring the impeachment of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, earning her the Best Director award at the CCXP Awards. Her latest film, My Name Is Gal, portrays the life of Brazilian singer Gal Costa between 1966 and 1971 and was released in October 2023 to great critical acclaim and box office success. Since then, it has participated in various film festivals, such as Rio, Havana, Los Angeles and Paris, among others. Lô’s next endeavor, Apnea, will be her fifth feature film.
