Mar Novo is a Mexican film and television writer and director. She graduated from the New York Film Academy with a B.F.A. in Filmmaking in Los Angeles, California. In 2021 she wrote and directed the award-winning short film MAR I ANA. That same year, she directed the feature film Sisters, which will be released at the end of 2023. In 2022, her feature project La mala suerte de la buena cuna —developed from the short film MAR I ANA— won the fiction production grant from the Jalisco Film Commission (COFIEJ) and is currently in development. Mar is currently in post-production of the television series Yellow for Starz+/Lionsgate, as well as the television series Ella camina sola for Univision/VIX.
