Marty S. Minnich (USA)

Marty S. Minnich was born in New Orleans, grew up in rural Idaho and has lived in Mexico since 2011. They graduated from the University of Oregon, where they studied social work, and later from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City. They co-wrote their first feature, The Gigantes, with director Beatriz Sanchís, which premiered at the 2021 Guadalajara International Film Festival. In 2021 they joined the production company La Corriente del Golfo, founded by Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna, and currently work as a fiction development executive, overseeing a slate of more than 40 projects. Their trans identity and background in social work inform their writing, especially when it comes to character development.
