Miguel Ángel Papalini (Argentina)

Miguel Ángel Papalini was born in Córdoba, Argentina. As a screenwriter, his first feature film, Mochila de plomo (Argentina), premiered at the Berlinale in 2018. His second project as a screenwriter, La otra orilla (Peru), participated in Sundance’s Script Lab in 2024 and in Cine Qua Non Lab’s Script Revision Lab in 2022 and received funds from the Ibermedia Program, the Peruvian Directorate for Audiovisual, Phonography and New Media (DAFO) and the French National Center for Cinema and Animated Image (CNC). As a director, he won the “Historias Breves” contest in Argentina in 2022 with his short film Donde revientan las luciérnagas. With Los dogos, his first feature film project, he participated in Ibermedia’s Ibero-American Project Development Course in 2021 and in Bolivia Lab’s International Script Lab in 2022. Miguel Ángel holds a Degree in Contemporary Documentary from the National University of Córdoba, specialized in screenwriting at the International School of Film and Television of Cuba (EICTV) and the M.F.A. in Screenwriting of the University Carlos III of Madrid and ALMA–Sindicato de Guionistas (Spain), and works as a freelance in various countries, such as Argentina, Peru, Spain and Mexico.
