Sara Pinheiro moves between film, theater and literature. In Belo Horizonte she participated in several plays as a playwright, actress and director. She was the organizer of the “Janela de Dramaturgia” exhibition. She won the Literature Prize (Young Writer category) of the Government of Minas Gerais in 2017 and her work was published by the publishing houses Perspectiva, Javali and Chão da Feira. She first came into contact with the audiovisual world through the dramaturgical process of Cine Splendid (Iberescena/Festival Mirada 2018), a work addressing the relations between the theater and filmmaking languages. She directed music videos for musical stage groups using the shadow theater technique. She was the director of the short film Conto anônimo (2024 Humberto Mauro Award); a script assistant for the feature film Somente nós, by Lu Menezes/Roteiraria (in development); a screenwriter for the feature film Canção ao longe, by Clarissa Campolina (official selection at the 2022 Marrakech Film Festival and winner of the best screenplay award at the Cinalfama Lisbon festival); and a screenwriter for Remanso, by Pablo Lamar (Hubert Bals Fund, BrLab and Cinemart, in pre-production). She is currently developing Enseada (jury mention at Brasil CineMundi 2024).
