Sergio Vargas Paz is a Bolivian filmmaker who specialized in directing, screenwriting and executive production in Colombia. Throughout his filmmaking career he has worked as director, producer and editor on numerous projects, including feature and short films. He worked in Blunt Force Trauma (2015) in the photography department. He directed the feature film Anomalía (2019), which won numerous awards, including the best director award at the World Film Carnival Singapore, the best screenplay award at FantLatam (Brazil) in 2021, the best film award at the Bogota Horror Film Festival (BHFF) in 2020, and the best first feature award at the Crown Wood International Film Festival (India) in 2020, among many others. Sergio also directed Ajayu (2025) and is currently developing the film Respira (Breathe) and the premium series Memorias Corp.
