Signe Zeilich-Jensen

Signe Zeilich-Jensen is a Swedish-Dutch script consultant and film curator with extensive experience in the film industry. Throughout her career, she has held various roles, including commissioner, story editor, and program designer, yet she has always remained passionate about coming-of-age stories and young audiences.

Signe began her career at the Dutch production company Bos Bros before moving on to positions as a buyer and commissioning editor at the Dutch public broadcaster KRO and Nickelodeon Benelux. As a programmer at the children’s and youth festival Cinekid, she designed the Kids & Docs workshop in collaboration with the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and launched the Cinekid for Professionals program. Signe further expanded her knowledge of international film production while heading the co-production market Holland Film Meeting. From 2017 to 2021, she served as a film commissioner for the Netherlands Film Fund, focusing on children’s and family films.

In her role as a script consultant, Signe collaborates with both Dutch and international filmmakers and regularly teaches at film labs and industry workshops. In addition to her consultancy work, Signe recently authored the report Really? REALLY, commissioned by IDFA and the Netherlands Film Fund, which explores the state and challenges of Dutch youth documentaries. Other recent clients include Berlinale, Alternativa Film Lab, Nederlands Film Festival, Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), KIDS Regio, Kristiansand International Children’s Film Festival, Torino Film Lab, and Doxs Ruhr. Signe is also a literary translator from Dutch to Swedish, having translated over ten novels.
