Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sean Joseph Salazar Jourdan is now based in Denver, Colorado, where he works as an award-winning screenwriter and director. Prior to this, Sean studied chemical engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia and worked in that field following graduation. Soon after, Sean’s lifelong interest in storytelling and human nature led him to Washington University in St. Louis, where he obtained an M.A. in Drama. His interests moved from theater to film, taking him to Columbia College Chicago, where he obtained an M.F.A. in Film and Video. His prestigious honors and accomplishments include, among others: Best Feature Screenplay (Horror) Award at the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition; Silver Hugo Award at the Chicago International Film Festival; Finalist (Horror) at the Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition; CINE Golden Eagle Award; and Top 7 (Horror) at the Slamdance Screenwriting Competition. Sean also often teaches screenwriting, directing, and creative media making at the Universities of Colorado, Denver and Boulder.
