Ingrid Bonilla Rodríguez is a photography specialist from the National University of Colombia and holds Master’s degree in Audiovisual Production and a Master’s degree in Fiction Film from the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Her creative motivations lie in a hybrid cinema that combines genres. She is also interested in rural storytelling and the creation of new universes through fantasy and science fiction. She is the screenwriter and director of the documentary feature Montañera (in post-production), a project that won the Colombian Film Development Fund (FDC) in 2021, and of the documentary feature Mariposa, a project in advanced development selected for the Ibermedia Workshop for the Development of Film Projects from Central America and the Caribbean in 2023 and for the Producers Meeting (SAPCINE) of the Cali International Film Festival in 2024. Ingrid is the screenwriter and director of short fiction films such as Chaika, selected for the Proimágenes Refresh Vol. 6 catalog, La gallina saraviada and El mandado, winner of the FDC in 2024, and the co-director of the documentary short film Kilómetro 7. She is a founding partner of the Montañera Films corporation, where she has created and managed training projects in film with rural communities and community cinema since 2021: “Narrando el campo: la comunidad cuenta” and “Expedición en la vereda”.
Germinadas — Traditional agriculture has disappeared and many plant species have become extinct due to the monopoly of large corporations. Emma, a 35-year-old scientist, returns to her hometown with her daughter Sofía because of her grandmother Lucía’s illness. There she discovers an agricultural crisis that threatens the last coffee crops. Upon finding an ancestral manuscript, she connects with the family legacy as seed custodians. Emma must decide between pursuing her career or joining the peasant uprising to save the crops and preserve her community’s heritage.
