Rafael Salazar Moreno is a Spanish filmmaker based in New York, co-founder of Rava Films with Ava Wiland. For over a decade he has worked on documentary and fiction, gravitating around the art world and exploring the challenges of the creative process and their connections to social issues. He has collaborated with renowned cultural institutions such as the National Gallery of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art21, MoMA, Whitney Museum, and Tate. His work has aired on PBS and has been selected for festivals such as the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, Santa Fe International Film Festival, and Urbanworld Film Fest, among others. Notable works include An Artist Walks into a Bar (Vimeo Staff Pick), Unfinished, 2017 (Mixed Media), and Where the Earth Meets the Sky (winner of the jury award for best short film at the 2024 Santa Fe International Film Festival).
