A seasoned expat, Darcy Brislin left her native Boston behind to study Art History and French at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and spent the following decade immersed in the contemporary art and film worlds of Paris, Berlin, and London. She received her M.F.A. in Screenwriting and Directing from EICAR, the International Film School of Paris. Currently based in Los Angeles, Darcy works as a freelance writer and producer, with a passion for historical fiction. She is currently in development with Bell, a biopic about Alexander Graham Bell told from his deaf wife’s perspective, which participated in the Sundance Screenwriting Lab and was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Sundance/Sloan Commissioning Grant, SFFILM Science in Cinema Fellowship and Film Independent/Sloan Production Grant. Darcy was a producer on Ondi Timoner’s Mapplethorpe and wrote the animated short film A Thousand Kisses, which screened at festivals and museums worldwide.
