Alejandra Gómez Pinilla (Peru)

Alejandra Gómez Pinilla is a Peruvian director and screenwriter. She graduated in Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts, with a specialization in screenwriting, from TAI School of Arts in Madrid. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Cultural Management from the Complutense University of Madrid. Her feature film script Aída was a finalist in the international feature film script competition of the FilmarketHub platform and was part of Cima Impulsa 2021, a residency supported by Netflix and the Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts of Spain (ICAA). It also won the Peruvian national production fund in 2022, was part of the co-production forum of the Malaga Film Festival in 2023 and is currently in the financing stage. Her first short film as a director, El espejo del valle, is currently in distribution and will be released in 2024. Alejandra is currently developing her second feature film script — La sirena del Titicaca

La sirena del Titicaca — On the floating islands of Uros, a drought threatens the community. A girl named Illa goes into the heart of Lake Titicaca in search of the last mermaid to make a wish — for it to rain.
