Alejandra Wills (Colombia)

Alejandra Wills is a Colombian screenwriter and director. She is the co-founder of the Bogotá-based film production company Haba Films. In 2014 she graduated with honors in Film and Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and in 2015 she completed her Masters in Screenwriting at the International Film and Television School in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. In 2016 she won a short film production grant from the Colombian Film Development Fund (FDC) for her short film Amalgama. Her projects as a screenwriter and/or director have been selected for film festivals around the world, such as the Huesca Film Festival, Cinequest Film Festival and the Havana Film Festival, among many others. Alejandra is currently writing three feature film scripts: one personal and two commissioned. Her second short film, Impermanencia, is currently in post-production.

Un cielo abierto [co-written with Patricia Restrepo] — A young woman disoriented by a long denial of grief, and her also broken childhood friend, accept their deep pain, caused by the injustices of their country, when they put their memories and their friendship above their opposite class status.
