Camila Zavala (Peru)

Camila Zavala is a Peruvian producer, screenwriter and director based in Los Angeles. She studied Theater and Communications at the Catholic University of Peru and completed a M.F.A. in Film at Columbia University in New York. She was a participant in Film Independent’s Production Lab in 2019, the Sundance Institute’s Creative Production Lab in 2020, and the COOFilm Residency in 2023. Her films have screened at film festivals around the world, including Tribeca, Telluride, Palm Springs International Shortfest and Austin. She served as producer and screenwriter in the short films The Longest Breath, for the Hulu platforms, and The Catch (El salto), winner of the Peruvian National Short Film Award with a mention for best script and of several awards during its development stage. Camila is currently developing her first feature film as a screenwriter and director, Dime cuánto me quieres, winner in 2023 of the Peruvian National Competition for Fiction Feature Film Projects and selected to participate in the Workshop for New Peruvian Directors, the COOFilm Residency in Spain and Cine Qua Non Lab’s Storylines Lab.
