Camila Zavala (Perú)

Camila Zavala is a Peruvian screenwriter, producer and director based in Los Angeles. She studied Communications and Performing Arts at the Catholic University of Peru and holds an M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University in New York City. She began her career in the theater world and in recent years she has served as a creative producer and screenwriter of short films that have received awards at international festivals such as Tribeca, Telluride, Cartagena de Indias and Austin. Her latest short film as a screenwriter and producer, El salto (The Catch), received the Richard Brich award for special distinction in production, won the Peruvian National Short Film Award with an honorable mention for best script and was nominated for best student short film at the Tribeca Film Festival. Camila has received support from organizations such as Film Independent, IFP, the Sundance Institute and the Sloan Foundation. She is currently developing her first feature film as a screenwriter and director.

Dime cuánto me quieres Lucca, a 7-year-old boy, is confronted with his mother’s manic-depressive episodes. His instinct —still authentic and innocent— leads him to do everything in his power to help her. In order to make her happy, Lucca embarks on a tender, touching and heartbreaking journey that will only lead him to understand that the stability and happiness of the person he loves most in the world does not depend on him.
