2026 Taller de Líneas Argumentales

Carlos Morales is a Mexican director interested in telling stories about migration and queer experiences. His work has been screened at film festivals such as Sundance, Berlinale, and Hot Docs. In 2019, his documentary short film Sinfonía de un mar triste won the Ariel Award for Best Documentary Short Film, granted by the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and in 2021 his documentary short film La felicidad en la que vivo was also nominated in the same category. Carlos is currently preparing his first feature film, Cómo se hace para volver (winner in Mexico of the 2025 EFICINE Tax Incentive), a project selected for programs such as Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2024 Taller de Revisión de Guion, with an Honorable Mention in the 2024 Gabriel Figueroa Fund, and selected for the Working Lab at the José Ignacio International Film Festival (JIIFF) in 2026.
