Chris Laughter (USA)

Christopher Ryan Laughter is a writer, producer and director based in Los Angeles. He began his filmmaking journey in Houston, Texas, making skate and music videos, later becoming a leading event documentarian in Los Angeles during the early 2010s. Through his agency Studio Laughter, Chris creates purpose-driven documentaries for brands like Microsoft, League of Legends, Sony PlayStation, Adidas Originals, and Behr Paint. Alongside his commercial work, Chris is a prolific producer of narrative short films. In 2016, he co-founded the Assorted Kinds collective, producing 25 films by 2020 to uplift under-resourced filmmakers. He’s written and directed four of his own, blending dark drama with surreal comedy to explore emotional and societal complexities. His work has screened at top genre film festivals worldwide. Chris and producing partner Alexandra Hsu are currently developing a slate of film and television projects, with their debut feature set for completion in 2026.
