Christina YR Lim (USA)

Born in Madrid and raised in Maryland, Christina YR Lim is a Korean–American writer/director who explores the Asian diaspora through fish-out-of-water genre-bending stories. Christina began in theatre, working with companies like the Goodman Theatre, East West Players, and Center Theatre Group. She then turned to filmmaking, earning her M.F.A. in Film Directing and Screenwriting from the University of Southern California. Christina won SeriesFest’s Women’s Writing Competition, garnering a development deal with Kyra Sedgwick’s production company. Her feature project Gyopo was a semifinalist for the Nicholl Fellowship, placed top 50 on The Launch Pad, and was selected for The Black List x Women In Film Feature Residency. Christina’s films have screened at Bentonville Film Festival, CAAMFest, RiverRun and Cinequest, among others. She has also directed films in Shanghai and Beijing, and is an alumnus of Yale University’s directing fellowship. Christina recently premiered her first feature film, B-Side: For Taylor, and is currently developing her second feature as an auteur.
