2026 Cine Qua Non Retreat

Dania Bdeir is a Lebanese-Canadian filmmaker whose short film Warsha won the Jury Prize for Best International Fiction Short at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival along with 120 awards and has screened at more than 350 festivals including SXSW, Rotterdam and Palm Springs ShortFest. Shortlisted for the 2023 Academy Awards-Oscars®, Warsha can be streamed on The Criterion Channel, Apple TV and Netflix MENA. An alumna of New York University’s Graduate Film Program and one of ScreenDaily’s 2022 Arab Stars of Tomorrow, Dania is currently developing her first feature film, Pigeon Wars, which received development financing from Telefilm Canada and was selected for Cine Qua Non Lab, Le Groupe Ouest, La Fabrique and both the 2023 Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the Directors Lab. A recipient of The Walt Disney Studios’ inaugural Project Advancement and Completion Fund, Dania is managed by Anonymous Content.
Dania was a participant in Cine Qua Non Lab’s 2021 Storylines Lab with Pigeon Wars.
