Diana Lowis (Colombia)

Diana Lowis is a Colombian filmmaker. A graduate of the National University of Colombia, she holds a Master’s degree in Screenwriting from the University of Navarra, Spain. She is the producer of the feature films Cazando luciérnagas (Chasing Fireflies) (2013) and Ruido rosa (Pink Noise) (2014), which have been screened and won awards at numerous festivals around the world, and of the fiction series Antes de la fiesta (2016), Hombres de Dios (2021), and Tan lejos como puedas (2024). Diana has twice won the screenwriting grant from the Colombian Film Development Fund (FDC) and has participated in screenwriting workshops such as Plume & Pellicule in Switzerland. Her production company, La Colmena Industria Creativa, produced Arde la tierra (2019), selected for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and winner of the Award for Best Documentary Short Film at the Havana Film Festival, and the fiction series Hotel Dulce Hotel (2022). In 2025 Diana was a researcher and screenwriter for the documentary series Caribe en letras and directed an episode about women writers from the Colombian Caribbean.
