Diego Hernández (Mexico)

Diego Hernández is a Mexican filmmaker born in Tijuana. His debut feature film, Los fundadores, received the Puma de Plata Award for Best Mexican Film at the FICUNAM Film Festival in Mexico in 2021 and won a special mention in the “Premier Film” competition at the Marseille International Documentary Film Festival (FIDMarseille) in 2021. He also received the Young Jury Award (UPV/EHU) at the Bilbao International Documentary and Short Film Festival (ZINEBI) in 2021. His second feature film, Agua caliente, premiered in the “Ahora México” section of the FICUNAM Film Festival in 2022 and was part of the “Other Gems” section at FIDMarseille in 2022. Diego was part of Talents Guadalajara in 2022 as a screenwriter and was the winner of the Cine Qua Non Lab—Talents Guadalajara Award for his project El fin de la infancia. His third film, El mirador, is currently in post-production.
