Edwin Ho is a Singaporean queer filmmaker based in Paris. He holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University in New York City and is an alumnus of the Reykjavík International Film Festival Talent Lab. His latest short film, 1056 Metres, was presented by Film at Lincoln Center as part of the Emerging Asian Filmmaker Showcase during the New York Asian Film Festival. Edwin is currently developing his debut feature film, There Is Only One Season, set in contemporary Singapore. The project is being developed through EAVE Ties That Bind 2025–26 and received the FEST Film Lab Award at the FEST—New Directors New Films Pitching Forum. Raised in a matriarchal household, Edwin draws inspiration from the quiet strength and sacrifices of the women in his life, an influence that continues to shape the emotional core of his work.
There Is Only One Season — In Singapore’s suffocating insistence on perfection, the world of an idealistic girl on the edge of adulthood shatters when she uncovers her father’s hidden life, forcing her to break free from her destined path, only to be crushed by the weight of societal expectations.
