Elisa Puerto Aubel (España)

Elisa Puerto Aubel is a screenwriter, script doctor and director. She studied Screenwriting at the International Film and Television School (EICTV) in Cuba and at the Film and Television School (FAMU) in Prague. She was the screenwriter of the documentary La venganza de Jairo (Audience Award in the Documenta section of the 2019 Sitges Fantastic Film Festival). She currently writes genre feature films for production companies such as Salon Indien Films (Spain), Amour Fou Films (Austria), Machete Producciones (Mexico) or Les Films du Tigre (Switzerland). She wrote and directed the genre short films El establo and La antesala, both produced by Salon Indien Films and to be released in 2022. Elisa is a script analyst for European audiovisual funding agencies and a script reader for European and Latin American television networks. She has been a mentor in project development labs such as Panama Film Lab or Nuevas Miradas in Havana. She teaches courses on screenwriting and on horror films at the Complutense University of Madrid, the Madrid Film School (ECAM), the EICTV and the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University of Bogotá, among others.

Cachorros Mexicali, Mexico’s border with the United States. While strange water cuts begin, the zoo welcomes a new animal. The zoo’s veterinarian, Clara Vásquez, discovers that it is an unusual wolf puppy. The creature’s parents desperately search for it, unleashing a bloody hunt and revealing the consequences of a failed experiment.
