Federico Alvarado (Argentina)

Federico Alvarado is a screenwriter and director originally from Santa Fe, Argentina, who graduated from the ENERC Film School in Buenos Aires. He co-wrote with Lucía Garibaldi the feature film Un futuro brillante (2025), which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025, where it received the Viewpoints Award. Federico was part of the writing team for El método: principio de identidad (2023), a series produced by UN3TV, TEC TV and the National Institute for Cinema and Audiovisual Arts of Argentina (INCAA) which was widely screened at international festivals. He co-wrote with Martín Heredia Troncoso the feature film Bajo la corteza (2022), a project that was selected for Ibermedia Program’s Ibero-American Audiovisual Project Development Course and was released in theaters in 2022. Federico wrote and directed the short film Ausencia (2014) and is currently developing his debut feature film, Caja de resonancia, a project selected for LabGuion 2023 (Colombia) and Santiago Lab 2023 (SANFIC, Chile) and runner-up for the IV DAMA Lola Salvador Screenplay Award 2025 (Spain).

Los venidos Fernando and his husband, David, decide to move from Buenos Aires to the countryside. After settling in, they find out that the land they bought was taken fraudulently from the neighboring residents. When their relationship with the neighboring family turns conflictive, the couple starts to question the decision they made.
