Gerard Oms (Spain)

Gerard Oms started in film working with Isabel Coixet. He is a regular collaborator of Neus Ballús and the acting coach of actors Mario Casas, Ana Wagener, Bárbara Lennie, Marta Nieto and Begoña Vargas. Gerard trained at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and at the Laura Jou Estudio para el Actor. He is the acting coach behind the success of the plumbers in Sis dies corrents, winner of an ex aequo Pardo award for best actor at the Locarno Film Festival. Inefable (2021), his first short film as a director and screenwriter, premiered at the D’A Film Festival Barcelona, was selected at festivals such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival and the Malaga Film Festival, and won the Danzante Iberoamericano award at the Huesca International Film Festival. Caimán magazine included it among the 15 best Spanish short films of 2021. Gerard’s second short film, Has estado, hace tiempo (2022), premiered at the Valladolid International Film Week (SEMINCI) and will be screend in the next edition of the Medina del Campo Film Week.
