So This Is Dying (Então Morrer é Assim) [co-written with Helena Guerra] — Faced with the terminal illness of her best friend —who is rallying their whole community to rehearse her own multicolored funeral!— quiet but resourceful 13-year-old Zoé must confront her innermost desire: to disappear in her dreams. Set in a utopic solar-punk village in rural Brazil, So This Is Dying is a haunting yet luminous coming-of-age story about loss, friendship, and the fragile beauty of being alive.
