Guido Javier Turtula (Argentina)

Guido Javier Turtula was born in Buenos Aires. He trained as a director and screenwriter with Fernando Castets, Aída Bortnik and Juan José Campanella. He studied Film Directing at the Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC) in Buenos Aires. He has worked with actors Iride Mockert (El robo del siglo) and Fernando Contigiani García (Argentina, 1985), among others. His short film Ay, viejito (2016), starring Hugo Arana (La historia oficial) and Claudia Lapacó, was selected for multiple national and international festivals. His feature film project El adiós was supported in 2020 by Mecenazgo —Buenos Aires’ financing program for art projects— and participated in 2021 in Cine Qua Non Lab’s Storylines Lab under the mentorship of David Muñoz (El espinazo del diablo). Guido is currently participating in the Film Program at Torcuato Di Tella University.

El adiós María and Octavio have been married for 50 years. The time has come to retire and enjoy, harvesting the fruits of a life together. But the unexpected illness of one of them confronts the couple with their greatest fear: the other will have to go on alone.
