Inés Camiña (Spain)

Inés Camiña holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Deusto. She was granted a scholarship by La Caixa Foundation to attend New York University (NYU), where she earned an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing. Inés has written short plays and is the co-adaptor, along with José Sámano and José Sacristán, of Señora de rojo sobre fondo gris, a theatrical adaptation of the novel by Miguel Delibes that continues to tour Spain since its premiere in 2018. Her feature film project Catalina, which was awarded a development grant by the Department of Culture of the Basque Government, received an honorable mention at the Julio Alejandro 2022 Ibero-American Screenplay Award. Inés is also developing the series María del Carmen contra el mundo, which was selected for the IX Lab for Creating Television Series of the SGAE Foundation.

Catalina Catalina, a housewife unhappy with her marriage, has lived her life focused on taking care of her family for 50 years. When her husband suffers a stroke that leaves him bedridden, she becomes aware of her own mortality and finally dares to face her fears and explore the life she would like to live.
