Isabel Vaca (Mexico)

Isabel Vaca is a Mexican director and producer. Her work spans documentary and fiction, with a constant interest in stories based on everyday life. Her debut documentary feature, Temporada de campo, premiered at Visions du Réel and Hot Docs and received the Best Documentary Award at the Miami Ibero-American Film Festival (IAFFM) and the Audience Award at the Morelia International Film Festival. Isabel is the co-founder of the production company Caribou Visual, where she develops her own projects and collaborates with others. She is currently producing the documentaries Camino a casa, soon to be released, and Forensita, in post-production. In fiction, she has directed the short films Spinning (2023) and LOVE (2024), which both premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as Matagatos (2025), which premiered at the Durban International Film Festival.

Inés Seventeen-year-old Inés moves to Cancún with her family. Everything feels unfamiliar until she meets Ana, a classmate who looks at her differently. Amid parties, silences, and glances, they discover a first love that will also be their first loss.
