Jo Tracy

Jo Tracy is a script editor and development producer, skilled in generating and developing projects across film and television, with a background in publishing. Working with studios, independent production companies, and key funding bodies, including Focus Features, Working Title, Element, The Irish Film Board, the British Film Institute (BFI), and Creative England, she has mentored and championed new writers for over two decades, helping them move their work from page to screen. Jo has a particular affinity with stories from under-represented communities, particularly those with a female focus.

Alongside her script work, Jo has been a juror on many new writers’ competitions including the TV Emmys, mentored new female-over-forty writers on The Writers’ Lab UK and Ireland, and was a tutor on the Arista Development international workshops in Italy. She has created and delivered a series of workshops in partnership with Skillset and the UK Film Council, plus a Screenwriting for Beginners course backed by the Arts Council. Answering an industry need, Jo launched Drama Queens in 2025 — a new collaborative business model between development and production. They have just joined with Boudica Entertainment in order to help them meet the objectives of their recent Global Screen Fund development award.
