2025 Script Revision Lab

Josh Kim is a Korean-American filmmaker whose debut feature, How to Win at Checkers (Every Time), premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015. The Thai-language film won over 21 jury and audience awards and became Thailand’s official entry to the Academy Awards—Oscars® and the Golden Globes for Best Foreign Language Film. Josh started as an intern at National Public Radio (NPR) in Washington, D.C. before making short films and documentaries in Asia. His “Google Glass Diaries” project let everyday people record stories from their own perspective. He has since directed videos for Apple, Google, NPR and The Wall Street Journal. Previously, Josh worked with John Woo on the Korean remake of A Better Tomorrow, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and he is currently producing the adaptation of Folding Beijing, Hao Jingfang’s Hugo Award winning novella. Camellia Girl would be Josh’s second feature film.
