Juan David Gil Palacio (Colombia)

Juan David Gil Palacio has been working for 14 years in fantasy filmmaking at Máquina Espía ciencia&ficción in Medellín. He is a publicist with experience in creative writing, an audiovisual communicator and a screenwriter of fantasy and science fiction stories, including the short films Benjamín en tecnicolor (2011), Río de caracoles (2017), S.O.S. hogar temporal (2018) and Teoría de la expansión (2020). He is also a creator of metaphors and narrative universes for projects of scientific dissemination. He is a student in neurosciences in the Neuropsychology and Behavior Group (GRUNECO) at the School of Medicine of the University of Antioquia in Medellín and holds a Master’s Degree in Consumer Behavior with honors for his research work Neurocine: respuestas fisiológicas emocionales a partir de historias audiovisuales.

Hipocampo Joaquín is a 47-year-old man who lives alone with his dog. Joaquín’s perception changes when he comes into contact with water and a heavy downpour threatens to flood his house. Joaquín’s brothers will try to rescue him from his imminent shipwreck.
