Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz (Chile)

Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz is a Chilean screenwriter and director. His award-winning work has been screened at more than sixty film festivals around the world, including the New York Film Festival, the Stockholm International Film Festival, the Seattle International Film Festival and the SITGES Fantastic Film Festival. His debut feature, Pumpkinhole, is available on Apple TV and Prime Video. During his career, Juan Pablo has received support from institutions such as the HBO Access Directing Program, PGA Create, the BMP Breakthrough Artist Program, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) and the Fulbright Scholarship program, one of the most recognized and prestigious programs in the world. Juan Pablo holds an M.F.A. in Film Directing from the American Film Institute Conservatory and a B.A. in Social Communication and Audiovisual Direction from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is currently developing television series and feature films for the United States and Latin America.

Leonor Cristo A priest with a deep crisis of faith is sent to southern Chile to investigate the strange case of a woman with clinical megalomania who believes she is the second coming of Jesus Christ. The priest arrives in an isolated village where he meets the woman, who has already recovered from her condition, and the group of women who take care of her. However, suspecting that the woman’s connection to the divine might not be a mental illness, the priest decides to push her back into delirium to prove to himself the existence of God.
