Lígia Lopes Schiozer (Brazil/USA)

Lígia Lopes Schiozer is a Brazilian screenwriter based in Los Angeles. After earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and working in the field for years, she moved to California in 2022 to pursue an M.F.A. in Screenwriting at Chapman University, where she developed her voice writing for film and television. She wrote two short films, M.E.L. and Eternal Mother, which have been recognized by film festivals including NewFilmmakers LA, Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, New York International Screenplay Awards, HollyShorts Screenplay Contest, Silicon Valley Asian Pacific FilmFest, and LA Shorts International Film Festival. She is currently working as a freelance writer for vertical dramas. In her work, Lígia focuses on exploring human connection and love through stories that center on relationships and the beauty of everyday life. She often incorporates science fiction and magical realism elements to deepen themes and reimagine the boundaries of reality.
